History

Grand Opening - Ribbon Cutting

The Mansfield Area Historical Society & Museum was formed through a collective works of concerned individuals and the Mansfield Chamber of Commerce. We were concerned that if a historical society or museum wasn't established in the Mansfield area some if not all of our history would be lost. So after that initial meeting a board was established and membership was opened. From the first board meeting it was decided that eventually we would be in the need for a building to open our museum. So after a long search the old Mansfield Building Supply building was acquired to be the home of our new museum.

We first opened our doors for Wilder Days 2003 and then for the 2003 Mansfield Christmas Parade. On March 6, 2004 we had our official Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting. We now are open 6 days a week from March 6th to November 1st each year.
